JR’s global project ‘Women’ captures the humanity and beauty of some of the world’s toughest environments and memorialises the women who live in their midst. In seven countries that have seen recent social unrest, he interviewed women about their lives, took their portraits, and incorporated the images into the fabric of their communities.
